In November 2016, the Operations Manager at a four station cluster in Big Rapids Michigan unexpectedly resigned to become a teacher, leaving owner/GM Jeff Scarpelli only two weeks to find a replacement. Rather than make a rash decision, or stretch his already small staff even further, he called Mark. Over the next six weeks, Mark took residence at the station, filling in all the roles (PD, OM, Production and Morning Show Host), keeping the station operating smoothly. In early December with Mark's help, Mentor Partners found the right person to hire and asked Mark to remain involved briefly to assist in the training of the replacement. And was very pleased at the results.
"Mark, thank you for coming in and helping with the programming and management transition at Mentor Partners, Inc.'s radio group in Big Rapids, MI. When our long time operations manager/morning drive talent gave us two weeks notice before leaving here, we knew it would be a daunting task to replace …
There is no bigger job in radio than taking over an already successful radio station and keeping it on top, but that's just what Mark did at WIKY Evansville. Over his seven year programming leadership, WIKY maintained its Number One Nielsen status, as well as winning numerous awards (NAB Crystal and Marconi, Radio and Records "Station of the Year" and "Best Local Station" from the Evansville Courier & Press.) And comes highly recommended by his general manager.
"When it comes to broadcasting Mark has wealth of experience and knowledge. Over the years we worked together I found him to be a great strategist and an invaluable resource. If you are looking for a multi-faceted broadcast professional then Mark needs to be on your short list."
